TechProtect GmbH was founded in 2002. The company’s initial focus was to be on sales promotion and take-back solutions for the IT industry. In a small office in Gültstein, the company started to develop with ten employees. The employees always had the vision to promote the sustainability of companies and to offer environmentally friendly take-back solutions.
With the first major customer Hewlett Packard, a milestone in the company’s history was reached and the TechProtect GmbH model was implemented on a large scale for the first time. Only a short time later, the company recorded its next success by becoming a co-founder of the consulting company 1WEEE Services. Today, 1WEEE is known as 1cc GmbH and offers comprehensive consulting in the area of product and environmental compliance.
After the small office in Gültstein no longer corresponded to the size of TechProtect, it was possible to move into the current office building in Holzgerlingen in 2013 with a short stopover in Böblingen. In 2016, the business model could be expanded here and merged under the roof of 4SquareReturn-Holding. TechProtect GmbH, together with 1cc GmbH and WEEElogic, thus forms an overall concept for all activities related to the “Circular Economy”.
This year, the 20th anniversary of TechProtect can now be celebrated in the form of a jubilee. The company has been able to establish itself on the market over the years and is active both nationally and internationally. The main business areas of sales marketing and take-back solutions have been steadily expanded over the years. Today, the company cooperates with large companies such as Lenovo, Honda or Logitech and is constantly working on new process possibilities.
TechProtect GmbH now has over 50 new employees and has worked with over 60 well-known companies. With 13 different nationalities, TechProtect focuses on diversity in the team. This results in customer support in six different languages and payouts in more than 50 countries in more than 20 currencies. The Europe-wide logistics network helps TechProtect pick up a wide variety of products in 35 countries and provide fulfillment support in addition to collection. It also assists with transportation and waste regulations for cross-border waste shipments.
The success factors include not only our 20 years of experience and expertise in sales marketing and the area of take-back solutions, but also every single employee across departments has contributed their part to the 20-year success story of TechProtect GmbH. As a result, TechProtect has been able to establish itself in the industry for more than 20 years and has always been able to win new major customers. Accordingly, this year we are especially proud to congratulate three of our employees on their 20th anniversary as TechProtect employees. The three ladies (Simone Herm, Gabriele Thornton, Solveig Legler) have been with the company since the beginning and have contributed significantly to the development of TechProtect.
